Testimonials for The HomeScholar

I've had the pleasure, honor and challenge of homeschooling my children all the way to college, careers and independence. Some of my involvement in the homeschool community has been as a board member of the Washington Homeschool Organization, currently a co-presenter of the parent qualifying course, Options for Parent Teachers and presenter of the seminar “Homeschooling High School”.

During my twenty years experience as a homeschool parent and advocate, I’ve seen too many parents give up homeschooling when their children reach the high school years. Rather than continue homeschooling these young adults and begin to reap the benefits of all their early years’ investment, they abandon homeschooling out of fear. The top three overriding fears of homeschooling parents of teens are:

1. Fear of those higher level subjects and their ability to “teach” them.

2. Fear that the choices they make during the high school years may close doors of opportunity for their teens in the future.

3. Fear of how to track and record their child’s high school course work and activities so they have valid evidence of their learning.

The services of The HomeScholar have been sorely needed for years. We’ve desperately needed someone who has homeschooled herself, to come along side us and take us from fear to assurance and freedom. Lee will save you time and effort, prevent anxiety and stress and provide you with what you need to make a case for the superiority of homeschooling and complete your homeschooling with confidence."

"I have known Lee for 8 years as a fellow homeschooler and valued friend. We have watched our boys grow up together as good friends, right before our eyes and have spent many hours at Starbucks discussing all the ins and outs of the college application process. I realize that there are just certain hoops that have to be jumped through and having good transcripts is a major hurdle.

When Lee shared with me about starting her own business to help homeschoolers have great looking transcripts, I knew she had a winner for the homeschooling community. Homeschooling through high school can sometimes seem like a daunting process, but was one that I watched Lee face with grace and style and her biggest advantage is her organizational skills. I have watched her two boys have doors open to them that have been a direct result of her ability to put together professional looking high school transcripts.

I feel very honored to have Lee as a treasured friend as we have both turned the corner of our homeschooling years. Homeschooling high schoolers was one of the best seasons of my homeschooling process. Don’t let the idea of having professional looking transcripts, and getting into college hold you back from going down that path."

Vice Chair, Washington Homeschool Organization

"Recently, our family had the privilege of being asked to review one of The HomeScholar's services. The HomeScholar walked us through an interview process to gather information to prepare a transcript for our oldest daughter who is a senior this year. I was VERY IMPRESSED with The HomeScholar's services and end product. If you need help preparing homeschool records (portfolio, transcript, etc), researching scholarships or filling out college applications, I highly recommend her services."

Board member, Yellowstone Coalition of Home Educators

"I was going to tell you how much Bryan (Jones) raved about not only your boys, but about you too. He just thinks you're the best homeschool parent he's ever met. And he quoted himself right from your web-site. I got a kick out of that, he remembers exactly what he said and what you posted. And, I have to tell you, when I explained that you are a cyber friend that I only know through an on-line community he nodded knowingly. He seemed to "get it."

"You have created such an incredible resource and I'm thrilled to be mentored through these high school home education years. Yes, I will be forwarding the newsletter. It's obvious you are a woman of great excellence. I pray you are fulfilled in this mission as you persevere with passion. I believe you offer so much to the homeschool community and you obviously care deeply about the education of those choosing to educate their children at home. What a tremendous gift you are to the community. I pray your business thrives and you are seen for the treasure you are as you bring a wealth of knowledge to families throughout Washington State. Blessings, "
